Summer Sensibility

Only one post in June?

It must be summer!

Blog Land, I have neglected you. It's just too nice to be sitting on the computer. Our summers in the north our precious and short so I must enjoy them.

Reality happens away from the computer, so I hope to have good things to write about when I return, whenever that may be. And it won't be long because I do enjoy sharing with you my (five or so) faithful blog readers! I may post a few pics just to keep you interested. You know...that thousand word thing.

Enjoy your summer!

Shoeless

Apparently I must have missed the memo but I was moved to give anyway.

At the end of mass the Soles 4 Soles program was announced. Many were prepared with bags of shoes. But many were like me: all we had were the shoes on our feet.
We hesitated but a few brave "souls" got it started and made their way to the bins in front of the altar.

Sandals, runners, dressy shoes. Adults and children walked up and took off their shoes or deposited bagfuls. I loved watching the little ones scamper up to deposit their sweet little soles.

I'm going to be totally honest here. There was a moment that I thought of how my shoes were only a month old, worn only a handful of times. It lasted for a moment when I remembered a time many years ago when I wore my shoes until they were done. And I instantly realized I had the means today to immediately go to the store and buy another pair. Truthfully it only took me a moment to walk up and deposit those shoes.

My only regret was not bringing a bagful.
