I love summer.
I also love that my friends miss my blogs.
So I'll post a few just to tide you over during my summer hiatus!
Having a picture of water skiing on my blog is pretty funny. It's not me. It's Toronto Barb's cousin Sandra. Frances was the spotter at the back of the boat who took the picture. I have never water skied. Nope, never. Not even when I was young and had knees that worked.
I'm going to this lake in August. I hope we'll be over the rainy season we are experiencing. Did you know it's the rainy season in Jamaica? Sidiki told me so. He also told me about having a butler at a resort. They give you a cell phone to stay connected so the butler can be at your beck and call....literally. He'll bring you drinks, towels, make reservations for meals and even reserve a lounge chair on the beach complete with computer printed name tags to mark your territory.
I won't have a butler at the lake (Ed is the chef, not the butler). And really...I don't mind at all. Actually, I would volunteer to be the butler if I could stay all summer. Butler, dishwasher, cook, chamber maid....whatever.
I've had some great visits to the bakery this month. Cheesecake, GF muffins, cookies, pizza shells and great conversations. And a unofficial book club. I finished my book and will be reporting in to Mrs Baker today. She gave several of us books to read and I've been dodging her ever since. Whew! Glad my homework's done!
Well, this was a painless post. Didn't take long at all. This will be my "summer style" for July and August. Hope you're enjoying the summer too. It's a gift. And I'm grateful.

Doing what is required
“It’s not enough that we do our best; sometimes we have to do what’s required.”
Sir Winston Churchill
A GREAT POST (click here) -- thoughts on teaching a good work ethic. And living by example.
Here I go with blog envy again. Actually, multiple blog envy. She writes more than one. She's good.
AND WATCH THE VIDEO ABOUT...COFFEE.
(you know when people say they LOL or laugh out loud but they really didn't...I really DID laugh out loud)
Back to doing what is required...
it's summer and there is lots to do around my humble home. The winter is mighty long so I'm putting the blog on hold for a bit to get stuff done and enjoy the beauty of summer in Essex county.
unless something amazing happens and then I must blog about it
but before I go...BIG CONGRATS to The Baker for winning the SINFULLY SWEET AWARD for the best Diabetic Dessert. It had a gluten crust but I got to taste the GF filling. WOW. Light fluffy cheesecakie goodness! Available by special order. Just ask for the Big Kahuna and tell him I sent you.(click here)
So I look forward to the summer of 2008. And I especially look forward to this place...

What do you think?
"Someone" sent me an email...
I wonder how many people ... feel like they aren't doing much at all about the world and it's imbalance of wealth and food? It really made me wonder if I was doing anything of importance!
God put us in such a wonderful place, are we supposed to do something great with this? Then I think of my wonderful kids and husband and of course the bakery. I wonder do I touch anyone's life like I'm supposed to? Do the little things count? Am I supposed to go out there and actually build something or feed a village or stop abortions?
I have this thought that God actually has a purpose for everyone on Earth...it's not random that you and I were born when and where we are. He put us here for something. Am I doing what I'm supposed to be doing?
I know , pretty heavy stuff for 6 a.m. eh? You wonder why I can't sleep at night! I'd be interested in what you think! What do YOU think?
